Microsoft announced today it's renaming Office 'Microsoft 365,' which will affect the names of Office.com, the Office mobile app, and the Office app for Windows. The company is also adding new types of content creation methods and templates.
FREMONT, CA: Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) stated more than two years ago that it would rebrand its Office 365 SMB products as Microsoft 365. All of the company's productivity apps received a name change today. Office.com, the Office mobile app, and the Office Windows app are all part of the Microsoft 365 rebranding. According to a business FAQ, each will have a new icon, a fresh appearance, and much more functionality.
Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive are all part of the Microsoft 365 online platform. Users who use the apps via Office.com will automatically be transferred to Microsoft365.com when the formal name change for Office occurs in November. In January 2023, the Office app for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android will start to receive the same updates.

According to a blog post on the corporate website, Microsoft also announced the addition of new templates, either recommended templates or blank templates, along with a new logo.
All users may already access Microsoft's Create module on the web, Windows, and mobile devices, but more template kinds will be available starting in 2019. The corporation did not disclose what brand-new templates would be made available to consumers.
Additionally, a new Apps module will be available starting next month, enabling users to find, run, and bookmark the Microsoft 365 tools they use the most. Microsoft 365 mobile will offer the same ability to pin tools in the upcoming months. Consumer users can view their Microsoft 365 subscription status and check storage consumption in one location starting next month thanks to badging on the web and Windows.
Beginning in November, My Material, a feature that enables corporate users to centrally store and view content, will also be accessible for usage on the web and Windows. Microsoft will make Tagging available as a new way to collect and arrange material with personalised tags. Commercial users can currently access the feature on the web and Windows.
