The existing security program of companies does not matter, as there are several ways in which they can build more robust defenses to mitigate the potential damages.
1. Cybersecurity Assessments
A company can't make a proper defence if they do not know its current position. A periodic cybersecurity assessment for the company’s responsibility is an excellent security program that is essential as it highlights all the strengths and weaknesses that an organization can work on.
The assessment provides a clear idea regarding the steps necessary for a company to secure the essential documents obtained on computers or laptops.
2. Staff Training
Hackers are confident as they understand how to enter a system and its network; Hence, there are great chances of an employee falling for phishing or social engineering attempts. The company’s responsibility is to ensure that every team member knows about cybercriminals and how they can trick them. An organization must consider offering training to its employees about multiple kinds of hacking and how it can harm a business. There too must be strict cybersecurity policies within an organization, and it will be a punishable offence to breach them.
3. Keep Software Updated
Any software used by the company must be improved to the latest version. The old applications can't deal with the updated way of hackers, and they will easily steal information and cause severe damage.
Anti-virus software can be regularly updated, but many other programs do not have this function. The company must guarantee that the software is checked periodically to expose any missing patches or security loopholes before any damage. A corporation must look after their valuable information regarding their business or employees.
